Holidays: Thanksgiving 2019
Happy Friday readers! I hope this post is finding you happy, healthy and cozy on this official start of the Christmas season!?
I hope Thanksgiving was good to you! Our Thanksgiving went great! We wound up having 17 people altogether and there was a ton of yummy food to go around.
This year I went for a really simple tablescape. We got new plates this year from The Christmas Tree Shop. They’re lightweight and reuseable plastic with a simple design. They were super easy to clean versus the heavy ceramic plates we’ve used in the past.
Julia had a blast and was so happy to play with her older cousins! Julia is honestly quite the extrovert and it really showed this year. When people were laughing around the table she made sure to loudly join in going “Haha!!”.
After everyone left Kevin and I cleaned up and then put Julia to bed soon after. Once she was in bed Kevin brought up our Christmas decorations! Kevin set up the tree and we both decorated it while watching It’s A Wonderful Life and my favorite Christmas special, Gwen Stefani’s You Make It Feel Like Christmas.
We left out some ornaments for Julia to hang up this morning and she was fascinated when she saw our living room turned into a Christmas wonderland overnight! She loves her “ho ho tree” as she calls it. Christmas has a different kind of magic when you’re a parent :’)
I will be sharing a post next week of our Holiday Home tour! I’m so excited to share with you some of my favorite decorations that we’ve accumulated and inherited over the years.
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Sending love, light & holiday cheer ❄️,
